Equipment

  • 9x13 Baking Pan
  • Hand Mixer Electric

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • ½ cup condensed milk
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or more for toppings

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking pan. Line the pan with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, beat butter and sugar on medium setting until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beat until fully incorporated.
  • Stir in condensed milk and vanilla extract until well blended.
  • Add ½ of the flour and mix. Add remaining of the flour and mix again until everything is well combined. Don't over mix.
  • Add in ¾ cup of cheese and mix until evenly distributed. The batter should have a thick consistency.
  • Transfer the batter to a baking pan and spread evenly. Top with the remaining cheese and more if needed.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges of the bars turns golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Total yield depends on how big or small you slice your bars.
  • Feel free to add more cheese if you like
  • The cheese bars batter is thick, could be difficult to use hand. I suggest you use handheld electric mixer or stand mixer.
  • For the cheese, you can use cheese grater or you could buy pre-shredded cheese (store-bought)
