Homemade Fishball Sauce is a condiment that is thick, savory with a hint of sweetness and tanginess that adds a burst flavor to a popular street foods like fish balls, squid balls, kikiam and kwek kwek.

Ingredients
  

  • cup water
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoon brown sugar
  • tablespoon flour
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 piece red chili finely chopped

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, water, brown sugar, minced garlic, salt and pepper, and flour. Stir to mix the ingredients together.
  • Place the saucepan over low to medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar and allow the flavors to meld together. About 3-5 minutes. Add in chili and stir.
  • Remove from the heat and let it cool before transferring to a container or serving bowl.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of sugar in your sauce to achieve the desired level of sweetness that suits your taste buds.
  • If you like a bit heat of your sauce, you can add more chili flakes.
