This flavourful Homemade Goma Dressing is the perfect salad dressing that is simple and easy. Made with toasted sesame seeds, soy sauce, and a few other ingredients, this creamy and nutty dressing adds extra flavor to salads, rice bowls, and more.

- 3 tablespoon white sesame seeds toasted
- 1½ tablespoon soy sauce less sodium soy sauce
- 2½ tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 clove garlic grated
Toast sesame seeds in over medium heat skillet until golden brown. Transfer them to mortar.
Begin by grinding the toasted sesame seeds using a mortar and pestle or a spice grinder to achieve a fine consistency. Set it aside.
In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar and grated garlic. Mix well until well incorporated.
Add the ground toasted sesame seeds to the mixture and stir to combine. This will give the dressing its characteristic nutty flavor and creamy texture.
Drizzle dressing over salad and enjoy!
Key Tips
- Toast sesame seeds before grinding to enhance flavour. Toast in a dry skillet in over medium until golden brown and fragrant.
- Grinding toasted sesame seeds using mortar and pestle or using spice grinder. Be careful not to overgrind as they turn into a paste.
