- 3 pieces boneless chicken thighs skinless
- salt and pepper to taste
- 5 tablespoon cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon 5 spice powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1½ tablespoon oil pan frying chicken
Soy Glazed
- 3 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1½ tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sriracha
- 2 cloves garlic minced
Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper both sides.
In a bowl, mix cornstarch, paprika and 5 spice powder until well combined.
Coat chicken thighs with cornstarch mixture both sides until coated.
Remove chicken thighs and set it aside.
Mix soy sauce, brown sugar and sriracha in a bowl.
In over medium heat pan, add oil. Once oil is hot, add chicken thighs. Pan fry for 5-7 minutes flip and cook for another 5 minutes until brown.
Remove chicken from the pan. In the same pan, add minced garlic and stir for 1 minute until lightly brown.
Pour in soy glazed sauce and simmer for 1 minute.
Add back chicken and cook on high heat while drizzling the sauce all over the chicken for 1 minute. Serve with rice and enjoy!
- Chicken: for this recipe I am using boneless skinless chicken thighs. You can also use chicken thighs with skin on.
- Cornstarch: about 5 tablespoon of cornstarch. This helps to lock the juices and gives crispier texture.
- 5 spice powder: you will find them at Asian grocery store.
- Paprika: you can skip this if no paprika available. Totally optional
- Sugar: brown or white sugar works fine. You can also use honey for this recipe.
- Soy sauce: light soy sauce or regular works great.
- Sriracha: about 1 tablespoon for a little spice. You can add a bit more if you like it more spicy.
