Tofu Green Bean Stir Fry with Oyster Sauce

- 400 grams green beans ends trimmed and cut into 3-inch lengths
- ½ block (454 grams) extra firm tofu
- 2½ tablespoon olive oil
- 3 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- ½ cup water
- 1 small onion chopped
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- ¼ teaspoon chili flakes
- salt and pepper to taste
Cut tofu into cubes and season tofu with salt and pepper. Trim and remove the end stem of green beans.
In a skillet over medium heat, heat oil.
Add tofu and pan fry for 2-3 minutes each side until golden brown. Set it aside.
In the same skillet, sautè onion and garlic until fragrant.
Add in green beans and stir for 3 minutes.
Stir in oyster sauce, soy sauce and water. Simmer, cook and stir occasionally for 6-8 minutes until green beans are tender-crisp.
Add tofu back into the skillet and mix.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add in chili flakes, mix until evenly distributed.
Transfer to a serving plate and serve over rice. Serve hot.
- Cut green beans into equal sizes, trim and remove the tip of the end stem.
- Cut extra firm tofu into cubes and season them with salt and pepper before pan frying.
- Want a bit of heat? Add chili pepper flakes to taste!
- Do not overcook green beans.
