Spicy Tofu Sisig

The Best Spicy Tofu Sisig

I can still remember eating Pork Sisig when I was in college in the Philippines. The cafeteria in my school often had this dish available because of it's popularity among the students. It is definitely my comfort food, not really something to eat everyday. Every once in a while I have craving for this classic Filipino dish.

Usually made with Pork or chicken, I wanted to make a recipe that is healthier while preserving the taste of the Philippines. So for this version we are going to use Tofu. Here is the recipe for you to try. Enjoy!

What is Sisig

Sisig is typically made with parts of a pigs face and belly, and chicken liver. It is then seasoned with calamansi, onions, and chili peppers. That is where the spiciness comes from. It actually originates in the Luzon province of the Philippines. Sisig is a large staple of Kapampangan cuisine. But using Tofu, we can have a healthier version while retaining the amazing spices and seasonings.
