Shrimp Sesame Noodles Sauce
This super easy sesame sauce is a game-changer! Just mix soy sauce, a drizzle of sesame oil, a little honey then toss it with your cooked noodles and shrimp. In minutes, you’ve got a dish bursting with flavor—and a sprinkle of sesame seeds or green onions takes it over the top.

The great thing about this sauce is how simple it is—you only need three ingredients, and most are probably already in your kitchen. It comes together in no time and adds a ton of flavor.
If you like a little heat, toss in some chili flakes or a splash of sriracha. There’s nothing fancy about it, but that’s the beauty of it. It’s easy, tasty, and perfect for everyday meals.
Ingredients Needed
Here’s what you need for delicious takeout-style sesame noodles.
- Noodles: Use spaghetti, udon, lo mein, or even rice noodles depending on what you have.
- Shrimp: Can be swapped with chicken, beef or tofu for a vegetarian option.
- Vegetables: Bell peppers, carrots, snap peas, broccoli, or zucchini all work well.
- Sweetener: Honey can be replaced with maple syrup or brown sugar.
- Sauce: Adjust soy sauce for saltiness and add more sesame oil for a richer flavor.
- Spice: Chili paste or sriracha is optional—use less or more depending on your heat preference.
Varations
Some of you might be thinking, “What if I’m allergic to seafood?” Don’t worry at all—you can easily tweak this recipe to fit your tastes or dietary needs.
Protein: You’re not limited to seafood. Chicken, pork, or beef all work beautifully. If you prefer a vegetarian version, you can skip the meat entirely and use just noodles, or add some tofu for extra protein.
Noodles: No need to hunt down anything fancy. Any noodles you already have in your pantry will do the trick, whether it’s spaghetti, rice noodles, or even ramen.
Vegetables: Use whatever you have on hand. Cabbage, carrots, or broccoli all work well. You might need to adjust the seasoning or sauce slightly since I usually stick with bell peppers and spinach, but that’s the fun of customizing it to your own kitchen!
This recipe is really flexible, so feel free to get creative you can make it entirely your own without any stress.
How to make it
Sauté the aromatics until fragrant, then pan-sear the shrimp for 2–3 minutes on each side until cooked through.

Mix together the soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil in a small bowl until well combined. Then add the sesame sauce and toss everything to coat evenly.

Add the spinach, then toss everything together until the spinach is wilted.

Add the cooked noodles and toss everything together so the sauce coats them evenly. Sprinkle with sesame seeds or chopped green onions, and you’re ready to dig in!
