    They are also so simple to make and can be ready in less than 15 minutes. These are perfect for the lazy cozy evenings where you just want something easy to throw together.

    The Sauce is Everything

    The key to this recipe is the flavour balance of your spices. You should have most of the classic pantry staples at home; we need soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil & honey. These blend and work together to produce a sweet and flavourful taste bud bonanza. I also added knorr pork cubes for extra flavour.

    Ingredients Needed

    Ingredient Notes

    • vermicelli noodles: any brand of vermicelli works okay with this recipe. I used Rooster brand you will find them in superstore, international aisle.
    • cabbage: we are using red cabbage. Feel free to use green cabbage if you like.
    • carrots: we need 1 medium carrot, peeled and julienned.
    • onion: white, yellow or red onion works fine with this recipe.
    • oyster sauce: you can also substitute regular oyster sauce with vegetarian oyster sauce.
    • soy sauce: I am using the low sodium soy sauce.
    • honey: can be substituted with brown sugar or white sugar.

    Step-by-Step Instructions

    Step 1: Soak vermicelli with water, drain and set aside.

    Step 2: Prepare vegetables. Shred cabbage, peel and julienne carrots. Mince garlic and chop onion.

    Step 3: In over medium heat wok, add oil. Sautè onion and garlic for 2 minutes. Stir in cabbage and carrots. Add ½ cup of water with 1 piece of pork knorr cube and simmer for 3 minutes.

    Step 4: Stir in sauce and mix.

    Step 5: Add noodles, mix well and stir fry for 2-3 minutes.

    Serve with your choice of toppings like green onion or cilantro.

    Easy Stir Fried Vermicelli

    Ingredients
      

    • 200 grams vermicelli noodles soak with water
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 medium carrots julienned
    • 5 cloves garlic minced
    • ½ head cabbage
    • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
    • ½ teaspoon sesame oil
    • ½ teaspoon honey
    • ½ cup water
    • 1 piece knorr pork cube
    • black pepper
    • ¼ teaspoon chili flakes optional

    Instructions
     

    • Soak noodles with water or according to packaging instructions.
    • Prepare vegetables. Shred cabbage, peel and julienned carrots. Peel onion and slice. Minced about 5 cloves of garlic.
    • Mix the sauce in a mixing bowl by combining soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil and honey. Set aside.
    • In over medium heat wok, add oil. Sautè onion for 2 minutes or until translucent. Add garlic and sautè for another minute. Add carrots and cabbage.
    • Add ½ cup of water and 1 piece for pork knorr cube. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
    • Stir in sauce and mix.
    • Add vermicelli noodles and mix well until the sauce has distributed evenly. Add chili flakes for spicy lovers. Toss black pepper. Stir fry for couple minutes until warm through.
    • Top with green onions and enjoy!
