These delicious Sweet and Sour Meatballs are cooked with our home-made sweet and sour sauce. The meat is made from ground beef and seasoned with different herbs and spices. I am always a fan of sweet and sour dishes. I also made Sweet and Sour fish before and brought it to my friends house and they all loved it! They are fairly easy to make and perfect for a weeknight dinner. I love to serve this with rice or even vegetables.

HOW TO MAKE SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE?

This sweet and sour sauce are made of banana ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar, pineapple juice, brown sugar which are whisked together then poured over the pan after sautéing vegetables. If you have never heard of Banana Ketchup it is a super tasty famous Filipino sauce based made from bananas, it is said that during World War 2 the American Soldiers brought tomato ketchup to the Philippines but since tomatoes were hard to find at the time the Filipinos adapted the sauce using bananas instead! It comes sweet or spicy and is usually found in the Asian aisle of the grocery store. Try it, it is better than normal ketchup! HOW TO COOK SWEET AND SOUR MEATBALLS STEP BY STEP:

Honestly though, the secret for this delicious dish is all due to the sauce and this is the best sauce. When my boyfriend tasted it he said it's better than anything we could have ordered in. Let's make it!

BAKE MEATBALLS - place rolled meatballs on a preheated 350F oven for 20 minutes. DO NOT OVERCOOK the meatballs.

COOK SWEET AND SOUR MEATBALLS - after 20 minutes take meatballs out in the oven. Over medium heat pan, sauté onion, garlic, ginger, bell peppers. Add home made sweet and sour sauce. Add cooked meatballs and stir until well distributed.
