    INGREDIENT NOTES

    • Cocoa Powder: unsweetened cocoa powder. You can find them in any grocery, baking section. Use a good quality of cocoa powder for better taste.
    • Flour: 2.5 cups of all purpose flour.
    • Confectioner's sugar: serves the coating of the Chocolate Crinkles.
    • Sugar: where the sweetness comes from. White sugar is highly recommended.
    • Vanilla Extract & Baking Powder: Must haves!
    • Eggs: 4 beaten eggs.
    • Oil: vegetable oil is used for this recipe. Canola oil would work fine.
    • Salt: to balance the sweetness.

    STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Whisk the flour, salt and baking powder. Set it aside.

Step 2: In a separate bowl, combine cocoa powder, sugar, oil, vanilla extract and add beaten eggs. Make sure it is evenly or well distributed before adding the flour mixture.

Step 3: Gradually add the flour mixture to the cocoa mixture and mix everything together until you achieved the modelling clay texture. Like this!

mis the flour mixture gradually to make the chocolate crinkles

Step 4: The chocolate crinkles dough is sticky, so chilling is necessary. Sometimes, I chill it overnight but 2 hours would also work just fine. Cover it with a saran wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours. Chilling the dough is important so we'll have a thicker texture and easy to roll into ball shaped.

chill the chocolate crinkles dough in the refrigerator

Step 5: After chilling, scoop about 1.5 tablespoon then roll to form a ball shaped. Roll the ball into confectioners sugar. And bake the chocolate crinkles on a preheated 175C for 11-12 minutes.

    • roll the chocolate crinkles into confectioners sugar
    • bake in a preheated oven

Step 6: Remove from the oven and let it cool for 15 minutes. Eat, share and enjoy!
