- sauce: tomato sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce for umami.
Step-by-step Instructions
In over medium heat wok, add oil. Sautè onion for 2 minutes or until translucent. Add garlic and sautè for another 1-2 minutes. Add ground beef and stir.
Toss carrots and potatoes. Stir in tomato sauce, water, soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce and bay leaves then mix until evenly distributed.
Add bell peppers, raisins and green peas.
Serve with rice and enjoy!

Filipino Beef Giniling
Ingredients
- 1½ lb ground beef
- 1 large onion chopped
- 5 cloves garlic minced
- 3 pieces bay leaves
- 1 medium potato cubed
- 1 large carrots peeled and cubed
- 1 medium red bell peppers seeded and chopped
- ¼ cup raisins
- ¼ cup green peas
- ½ cup water more if needed
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 tsp oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- salt & black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In over medium heat pan, add oil. Sauté onion for 2 minutes or until translucent. Add garlic and sautè for 1-2 minutes. Add ground beef.
- Mix ground beef with onion and garlic. Stir for 5 minutes or until browned.
- Add carrots and potatoes.
- Stir in ½ cup of water, tomato sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Add bayleaves. Simmer for another 3 minutes until vegetables are tender.
- Add in bell peppers.
- Add raisins and mix.
- Add green peas and stir for another 2 minutes. Add water as needed to make sure sauce does not dry out. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve with rice and enjoy!
